Our Genealogy Tour - Sweden

After one night in Copenhagen we drove into Sweden. You'll have to forgive me but I believe all the pictures I took were from the car. I have some relatives from Sweden, but we didn't have time to stop and look (My mother's father is full Swede!)

I thought it was funny the GPS showed us driving through the water!

Here we are crossing the border into Sweden

I will never understand why we don't call countries by the proper name. Sverige = Sweden, Deutschland = Germany (Copenhagen isn't really spelled that way either by the way. That's the English spelling.)

We had to drive over a LONG bridge

Can you see all the wind machines far out in the water?

There were lots of farms. The land was pretty flat. It almost reminded me of South Dakota. Maybe that's why so many immigrants chose to settle there? Similar climate and land? It's kinda funny. You'd think they'd want to go somewhere warm!

More gas prices!

We passed this vehicle quite a few times. Apparently every time we'd stop it would get ahead of us again and we'd have to pass it. It became a joke.

It struck me funny seeing Ikea in Sweden since it's a "Swedish furniture store". I'd never fully thought it out I guess.
