Schloss Stolzenfels

A couple of weeks ago we drove up to Koblenz, and visited Schloss Stolzenfels. It's a gorgeous castle with an interesting past. We were able to take a tour of the inside (no pictures allowed though, sad face.) We even had to put on slippers over our shoes so we wouldn't ruin the original wood floors. The kids had a blast skating around in them.  The funny thing is last night I found a 2011 calendar in our drawer that shows castles from all around Europe. I kept it thinking maybe I could do something with the photos. Right on the cover was the castle we had just visited! How cool. (This is a calendar we bought in South Dakota while we were home visiting!) I had to show my husband and ask him if it looked familiar. We saw some other castles while we were up in the area but I'll save them for another post. (One of them was in the calendar too...)
